Understanding Pro Status Rules
The NCASA Executive Committee has adopted the
following resolutions for the 2005 NC State Cup concerning the
eligibility of professional players, both domestic,
international, and foreign born.
-
Professional Players are
NOT eligible to play
in the 2005 NCASA State Cup. No Exceptions. (Professional
Status is as defined by
US Soccer Federation policies 601.6 &
601.8 and any other sections of policies and by-laws that govern
domestic and international professional players.)
-
NCASA will only have one division of play for
Men's Amateur plays, that depending on the number of accepted
teams, may be broken multiple brackets.
-
NCASA
will remove the international clearance requirement from the
rules of the 2005 NC State Cup.
If you wish to register a professional
player, they MUST turn in the following paperwork to
NCASA thirty (30) days prior to the first state cup match in
accordance with US Soccer guideline to provide for clearance and
reinstatement as a amateur player:
-
International Clearance Form [pdf] - All foreign born
players with professional history. No charge.
-
Amateur Reinstatement [pdf] - All professional players,
domestic, international or foreign born. US Soccer has
a $50 fee with all Amateur Reinstatements and is the only
governing body in the US that can reinstate
professional players to amateur status.
Players found in violation of these rules will result in
immediate forfeiture of all matches for the teams on which they
are registered. |
