Dear Soccer Enthusiast:

Wilmington is honored to host the prestigious USASA Veterans Cup in Wilmington/New Hanover County for 2005-2006. Men and women (104 teams and over 3500 players and guests) from around the country, Canada & Japan, will call Wilmington “HOME” for 7 days in June as they compete for the national adult soccer championships, while enjoying all that the Cape Fear Region has to offer.

Early estimates are that over $7.5 million in revenues will be generated by this sports invasion, one of the largest special events in our city’s history. As important, proceeds from this major sporting event will be dedicated to the new Cape Fear Socccerplex, now under construction in New Hanover County on Highway 421.

Please consider being a part of this extraordinary event as well as becoming an ongoing “family member” in the rich tradition of soccer in our community.

Sincerely,

Harper Peterson
Co-Chairperson
2005-06 Veterans Cup
