NC Adult Soccer Announces
New Assistant to the Director

Greensboro, NC - North Carolina Adult Soccer Association (NCASA) announces the hiring of Rachel as the new Assistant to the Director, replacing Patrick.  Patrick was with NCASA for 2 years, while attending Elon University and is leaving for graduate school at Drew University in New Jersey.

Rachel comes to NCASA with a broad base of soccer experience.  As a player of fifteen years, she has played on the ’98 North Carolina Olympic Development Program (ODP) team as a keeper.  Most recently traveling with the La Bamba Aces of Greensboro to the 2006 USASA National Cup tournament in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Outside of the club realm, Rachel also traveled to Australia to play for the People to People team.

As a referee of nine years, Rachel has again reached some of the highest levels, refereeing at the prestigious Sun Bowl youth tournament in Tampa, Florida twice.  She has also served as a NCYSA State Cup referee, attended ODP referee camps, and was selected the Female Youth Referee of the Year in 2002.

NCASA Director Diego Munoz had this to say about Miss Brubaker: “She will bring a fresh new perspective to NCASA.  As a stand out player and official she has valuable insights and experiences that will help NCASA to grow and touch lives.  Her generous experience at the 2006 Veterans Cup in Wilmington clearly demonstrates her initiative and commitment to the game we all love.”

In accepting the position with NCASA, Rachel is committing herself to the organizational side of the sport.  She is pursuing her Sports Management degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  With NCASA constantly growing, currently boasting over 20 leagues and more than 430 teams, Rachel’s educational goals are an asset to NCASA.  Additionally she brings a great desire to further the female side of the sport.

Referee assignor and amateur women’s coach, Craig Fedor said of Rachel: “I've known Rachael Brubaker… as a fellow referee, her assignor and her coach.  She has always been a dedicated and zealous performer on the pitch as a referee and player.  Her love for the game is hard to match.  Her love for the game in this rehab period is why I recommended that she apply for this position.”

The Assistant to the Director position, while only a two-year-old position, has grown to become a necessity for the State Office.  Registrars are appreciative of the fast turn around of registrations, as well as captain’s with the processing speed of travel papers for tournaments.  With NCASA working to expand their State Select Program and revamp the State Cup competition, now is the time for an upgrade in the quality of staff at the State Office, and NCASA thinks Rachel Brubaker is just the thing.

NCASA is a non-profit adult soccer organization and is headquartered Greensboro, North Carolina.
