Adult Soccer Announces
New Assistant to the Director
Rachel comes
to NCASA with a broad base of soccer experience.
As a player of fifteen years, she has
played on the ’98 North Carolina Olympic
Development Program (ODP) team as a keeper.
Most recently traveling with the La Bamba
Aces of Greensboro to the 2006 USASA National
Cup tournament in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Outside of the club realm, Rachel also traveled to Australia
to play for the People to People team.
As a referee
of nine years, Rachel has again reached some of
the highest levels, refereeing at the
prestigious Sun Bowl youth tournament in Tampa,
Florida twice.
She has also served as a NCYSA State Cup
referee, attended ODP referee camps, and was
selected the Female Youth Referee of the Year in
2002.
NCASA
Director Diego Munoz had this to say about Miss
Brubaker: “She will bring a fresh new
perspective to NCASA.
As a stand out player and official she
has valuable insights and experiences that will
help NCASA to grow and touch lives.
Her generous experience at the 2006
Veterans Cup in Wilmington clearly demonstrates
her initiative and commitment to the game we all
love.”
In
accepting the position with NCASA, Rachel is
committing herself to the organizational side of
the sport.
She is pursuing her Sports Management
degree from University of North Carolina at
Greensboro.
With NCASA constantly growing, currently
boasting over 20 leagues and more than 430
teams, Rachel’s educational goals are an asset
to NCASA. Additionally
she brings a great desire to further the female
side of the sport.
Referee
assignor and amateur women’s coach, Craig
Fedor said of Rachel: “I've known Rachael
Brubaker… as a fellow referee, her assignor
and her coach.
She has always been a dedicated and
zealous performer on the pitch as a referee and
player. Her love for the game is hard to match. Her love for the game in this rehab period is why I
recommended that she apply for this position.”
