Fayetteville, North Carolina to Host US
Adult Soccer

The best
adult teams across the South came
to the Jordan Soccer Complex in Fayetteville, North Carolina over
Memorial Day weekend to compete in the
Region 3 Finals of the US Adult Soccer
National Cup. Open, amateur &
over 30 men's and women's teams from the
13 states representing US Adult Soccer's
Region 3 (North Carolina, South
Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee,
Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, North
Texas, Texas South, Louisiana &
Oklahoma) battled to move on to
the US Adult Soccer National Cup finals,
and in the case of the Men's Open teams
qualify for the prestigious Lamar Hunt
U.S. Open Cup. |

RESULTS
The competition
ended with some major upsets and some
heartbreaking defeats.
Men's Open
Championship
Azzurri of North Texas defeated Lynch's Irish
Pub 7-0 to take the title. Both
teams qualify to compete in the
2007 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
Men's Amateur Championship
Florida Kickers completed a flawless
weekend with an undefeated record to win
the Men's Amateur title. Newcomer's
Triad United of North Carolina took 2nd
place in the competition.

Women's
Amateur Championship
Triad United Aces took the Women's title
with an undefeated weekend of play. The
2007 tournament was only their 2nd
appearance in the competition.

Men's Over 30 Championship
Azzurri O-30 defeated the Florida
Kickers, defending National Champions,
4-2 to win the Men's O-30 title.
North Carolina newcomers, Highbury FC,
finished with a win and 2 tough loses,
losing 1-0 to the eventual champs in its
opening match on a last minute
heartbreaker.

The winners of each
competition now advance to the National finals
where they will play teams from Region I, II, or
IV to battle for the much coveted National
titles. Men and Women's U23 competition is
schedule for June 22, 23, and 24th in Atlanta
GA. June 1 is the deadline date for entry into
the U23 competition.
Thanks to all for a

and made our presence here not only enjoyable
