The
NCASA Men's State Select Team finished with a
respectable 1-1-1 record while competing in the
Region 3 Select Tournament in Frisco, Texas.
In their opening match against Texas South, the
team suffered a 3-0 defeat, but were able to
regroup to defeat a tough Florida team 3-2 in
their second match of the day. The third
match could've proved to be the spoiler match
for North Carolina, but after being up 2-1,
North Texas tied in injury time to capture the
crown.

The USASA
Region-III Select Teams Tournament was held this
past weekend in Frisco, Texas. My sincere thanks
to the host North Texas State Soccer
Association. Every aspect of running a
tournament was met by North Texas. Many thanks
to Jimmy, Landon, Mary, Jesse, Ernest, and all
the volunteers at the tournament. Many thanks
also to Marypat Bell, Region-III Deputy
Director, Joe Landry, Region-III Commissioner,
and the National and Assistant National Coaches
Aleks Mulhailovic, Abner Rogers, Jean Varas, and
Marlow Campbell. On the men's side North Texas
was first and Texas South was second. On the
women's side Florida was first and North Texas
was second. North Texas Men and Florida Women
will represent Region-III at the Donnelly Cup.
