North Carolina State Cup - RESCHEDULED

In an effort to "strike while the iron's still hot" we have secured Bryan Park (and limited use of Smith Park) for December 8-10, 2006 in Greensboro.  Consequently, the tournament is being rescheduled for then.

The response to the reschedule dates has been extraordinary.  Obviously we hate to lose any participation, but we can honestly say we are very grateful for all the efforts made by captains and players to return.  Below is the list of expected (confirmed) participants, still making this one of the largest tournament NCASA has ever held.

[ RESCHEDULE OF MATCHES ]

FROST Warning - Match Delay Scenarios

Given the expected cold weather for the overnights this weekend, we are preparing a contingency plan in the event of morning match delays at Bryan Park due to FROST.  Decision of FROST DELAY would be made on site each morning at 9:15AM scheduled start time, so teams should expect to start as regularly scheduled.  The Greensboro Weather hotline number is 336-333-1098.

Considerations:
1 - First off and most important, there is NO WARMING UP ON THE BRYAN PARK FIELDS for morning matches while there is frost.  The tournament will quickly be yanked by facility, so stay off the fields until game time.  There is room outside the lines to warm up.
2 - In the event of a delay that pushes the first match time to 10AM, we can still maintain 45 minute halves on Saturday and Sunday SO LONG AS halftime is kept to a strict 5 minutes and turnover between matches is kept to a strict 10 minutes.  This means that teams should have their rosters completed with jersey numbers before arriving at the fields, and should give them to the officials as soon as the previous match concludes.  In some cases your match officials are not the same as those in the match previous and will be waiting for you near the field.  You can always turn the completed roster for your next match into the HQ tent at the conclusion of your previous match.
3 - With any delay in match times, the referee will have no discretion to add injury time to any matches.
4 - If the first match time is reschedule to start after 10AM, then all matches will be shortened accordingly, with strict 5 minute halves and 10 minute turnover between matches.
5 - Individual matches that start late will be shortened accordingly to get back on schedule.  Have your players ready with time to spare.
6 - All will be done to keep all finals to 45 minute halves, shortening them only as a last resort.

In the event of a delay that pushes the first match time to 10AM, we can still maintain 45 minute halves on Saturday and Sunday SO LONG AS halftime is kept to a strict 5 minutes and turnover between matches is kept to a strict 10 minutes.
With any delay in match times, the referee will have no discretion to add injury time to any matches.
See other considerations above.

Trainers:
Two will be available from 9am to 5pm.  They will be located at the Trainers' Trailer so get there early if you are in need of pre-game assistance.  They will also be roaming the park to assist with any injuries.

COED & WOMEN'S OVER 30 DIVISIONS

The COED and Women's Over 30 divisions suffered from attrition due to the postponement, but NCASA is committed to hold a state cup event for those division.  Details on re-planning that event will follow with the refund checks for those teams after this weekend.
