North Carolina State Cup

The NC Adult Soccer Association hosts the Annual State Cup for North Carolina. This tournament, with its long competitive history, is North Carolina's premier tournament.  The State Cup is open to all regular league teams from any of our affiliated members.  State Cup champions from the Men & Women's Open, Amateur, Under 23, and Over 30 divisions can qualify to advance to the USASA National Cup, in either the Amateur or Open Cup divisions.  NCASA also offers divisions for Men's Over 40 & Over 50, and a Coed division that can also play in corresponding USASA National Tournaments.

Thanks to the help of NCASA State Cup committee member, Bo Haeberle, and our friends at Greensboro Soccer, the 2006 NC State Cup will once again be held at the newest field turf complex in the Piedmont, Smith Park, and the ever famous Bryan Park. The ideal fields for the adult state cup! (Click field name for map and directions.)

Here are the pertinent State Cup documents you'll need to enter a team:

·         Tournament Application, with all the details on entry  [DOC][PDF]

·         Tournament Rulebook, version 2006 [DOC][PDF]

NCASA worked very (stress VERY) hard to keep the tournament entry fee to $400 while other tournaments have seen fit to increase their fees.  There is an increase in the performance bond to $140, but if all goes as it should you would get the complete amount refunded.

Please be sure you read all the material as NCASA has made modifications to the rules and requirements based on:

·         Welcomed feedback from many of last year’s participants

·         Efforts to keep costs (and consequently fees) down

Captains Meeting Info

Friday, December 1, 2006

@ NCASA Office, Greensboro (8pm)

In preparing for Friday night's Captains Meeting and concurrent matches, here is the news on how that will occur...

TEAMS THAT HAVE SCHEDULED MATCHES ON FRIDAY NIGHT:
 - Captains/Team Representative need to show up to the fields at least 45 minutes prior kick off and check in their team.  The Procedure is below.

TEAM THAT BEGIN PLAY ON SATURDAY:
-The Captains Meeting/Team Check-In is scheduled for 8pm at the NCASA Office on Friday, Dec. 1st:
http://www.ncsoccer.org/ncasa/location.html

To prepare for Team Check In you will need the following:
- ALL YOUR 2006 VALIDATED PLAYER PASSES, signed with photos and laminated.  We will have a laminator at the office that you can use.  Please DO NOT show and turn in incomplete passes.  Incomplete and/or invalid player passes will NOT be accepted.

Questions that may arise with corresponding answers:
? Can I still register a NEW player to the team?  NO.
? Can I add a guest player?  Can I replace a player?  Can I drop a player?  All changes to your roster MUST HAVE ALREADY BEEN APPROVED by NCASA PRIOR TO CHECK IN.

Procedure at Check-In
1) You will be asked for your hotel information & Mobile number.
2) You will be asked have your Player Passes in Alphabetical Order.
3) You will be asked to read the names on the Player Passes as Donna checks it against your State Cup Roster.  You will be given 6 copies of your State Cup roster when you come by the HQ Site on Match Day.
4) You will be given the Tournament Rulebook, Maps to the fields and Schedule of Matches (all also available at: http://www.ncsoccer.org/ncasa/statecup.html).  You are expected to be completely familiar with the Tournament Rulebook!
5) You will be asked to read and sign the Tournament Agreement Form.

All in all, if you have your passes in order, it should take 5-7 minutes at most!

The participation in the Event has been overwhelming and we've had to turn away teams to our own displeasure as we don't have enough fields to add any more matches.  In total we will have 51 team participating in 7 divisions which are records in both categories!!!

***Late applications If we end up having to turn teams away, it will only be for those that unfortunately turned in their applications late. Those teams, in the order they were received by the office, fall into the following divisions:

+ Men's Amateur, Men's Over 40, Men's Over 30 and Women's Amateur.

Consequently where changes can be made in replacing teams and/or adding games, it will occur in the order by which applications were received.
