Welcome to the NCYSA New Membership information webpage! Here you will find important dates on applying for New Membership, instructions and guidelines for applying and sample documents to help you with the process. Please click the links at the right for detailed information and the FAQ's below for quick answers.

Level I applications (Recreation level of play with the NC Youth Academy & TOPSoccer programs) are accepted any time throughout the seasonal year.  These applications will be evaluated and approved by the staff of NCYSA.  The NCYSA Board of Directors only considers and votes on Level II/III applications (Competitive level of play) at the Winter AGM (held in January or February) and the June Mid-Year Board of Director’s Meetings.  The deadline dates are listed below. Please keep checking this page for the latest info on those dates. All documents must be received into the NCYSA Office by the dates listed below to be considered.

 

Meeting Dates for New Membership

NCYSA Annual General Meeting – Sunday, January 24, 2021

Level I applications (Recreation with NC Youth Academy & TOPSoccer programs) are accepted at any time throughout the seasonal year.  The initial application for New Membership shall be for only membership at the Recreation level of play.

Level II/III (Competitive) applications - November 25, 2020 = 60 days prior
Mergers & Development of Umbrella Groups - November 25, 2020 = 60 days prior

How Can My Soccer Organization Become A Member of NCYSA?

Level I applications (Recreation level of play with NC Youth Academy & TOPSoccer programs) are accepted at any time throughout the seasonal year.  The initial application for New Membership shall be for only membership at the Recreation level of play. What are the Benefits of Joining NCYSA?

NCYSA offers three levels of play - Classic (competitive), Challenge (a competitive step above Recreation), and Recreation.

As well, we offer access to the Olympic Development Program (ODP), TOPSoccer (a special needs soccer program), Soccer Across America, and the NCYSA Youth Academy (a structured learning environment for ages 8-12, with an emphasis on development). 

NCYSA also offers association visits by State Staff and Administrators to help and meet with you and your membership.

Does our Organization Need to be an Official Non-Profit?

Yes, you must have a Determination Letter from the IRS, like a 501(c)(3).

When Do We Have to Get Documentation to NCYSA?

Level I applications (Recreation level of play with NC Youth Academy & TOPSoccer programs) are accepted at any time throughout the seasonal year.  Paperwork needs to be sent to the NCYSA Office, PO Box 18229, Greensboro, NC  27419.  

Level II/III (Competitive level of play) applications are voted on twice a year at NCYSA’s Annual General Meeting and Mid-Year Board of Directors Meetings Upcoming deadlines are below.  Paperwork needs to be sent to the NCYSA Office, PO Box 18229, Greensboro, NC  27419.
