The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Parents - Overview

Below are resources compiled by the Parent Education Committee for use by NCYSA members.  The focus is on making youth soccer better for your kids.

This is not a soccer issue alone.  Every sport would benefit from ideas that would make sports more fun.  We are collecting the best ideas and actions that have worked around the country for our associations to share and build on.   We think parents need the “how” and the “why” to make pre-game discussions more supportive, sidelines more positive, and the car ride home more inspiring to our players.

Some content is from USSF, USYS, and NCYSA, but other content includes the opinions from other organizations and authors.  Their views are their own, and NCYSA  is providing links to them to encourage thoughtful ideas, discussions, and debates.

We included lots of information for new parents.  However, as a youth sports parent of many decades, I still learned from these articles and videos,  and I improved my behavior on the sidelines! - Boxley Llewellyn, Parent Committee Chairman

If you have questions or suggestions, or if you'd like us to speak to your parent group, please email: Boxley Llewellyn, or Mark Moore.
