There are other soccer organizations that are members of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) but are not members of US Youth Soccer(USYS). Examples include AYSO, SAY, USSSA, or US Club. These organizations may offer competitions (tournaments or friendly games) that are sanctioned through their organization, but not through US Youth Soccer.
If attending a NON-USYS sanctioned tournament, either in-state or out of state, your team must be aware of the following information:
1. The team representative MUST check the Permission to Host form on the tournament’s website to determine the hosting/sanctioning organization, and to obtain details of the tournament (dates, location, tournament director’s info). If the form is not found, team representative should contact the tournament director.
2. The use of NC Youth Soccer passes, rosters and medical waivers is prohibited at non-USYS Sanctioned events. The team will receive a Team Information Page which lists the coaches, players’ names and dates of birth, with a statement confirming that players are registered to NCYSA.
3. NCYSA Insurance and Liability Coverage, as a part of player’s NCYSA registration, applies to NCYSA/USYS sanctioned competitions only. If attending a non-USYS sanctioned event, either in-state or out-of-state, please make sure all parents are aware that the NCYSA Supplemental insurance will not be valid for the event, and team representative must check with the tournament to see what insurance, if any, is provided by the host club.
There is a $15.00 administrative fee when requesting this information. No refunds are given for Notification to Travel should the tournament is canceled, the team withdraws, or the incorrect form is completed.
