YOUTH ACADEMY RESOURCES

Each season (Fall & Spring) member organizations need to submit their “Intent to Play” for the upcoming season. The ITPs will be reviewed by the Assistant Technical Director for the Youth Academy, and a contact log/list will be created to reflect those clubs accepted for the forthcoming season. The ITP also ensure that member organization are in good standing.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT INIATIATIVES

In August 2018, U.S. Soccer rolled out Player Development Initiatives (PDI’s). The PDI’s aim to create an environment for youth players to grow and develop their soccer abilities. The most notable PDI includes small-sided game standards.

Small-sided standards are regulations for youth soccer games played with less than eleven players on each team that include field and ball size, game length and special rules. Few players on the field will allow players to be more involved and provide more opportunity for development. The PDI for small-sided standards of play is implemented across the country.
