Starting This Year…NCYSA’s Cup Series Is Open to All Affiliations
NC Youth Soccer’s State Cup Series events are open to eligible teams from all recognized soccer affiliations, including:
- US Youth Soccer
- US Club Soccer
- AYSO
- USSSA
- Other recognized soccer organizations
Teams do not have to have participated in an NCYSA league to enter the competition.

The rich history of the NC Youth Soccer State Cups, combined with the excitement of competing against some of the best teams in North Carolina for a state championship, creates an experience teams want to be part of. Whether competing in the NC USYS State Cup or the NC Kepner Presidents State Cup, teams have the opportunity to represent their club, test themselves against top competition, and experience the excitement of pursuing a state title.

Which NC State Cup Should My Team Play In?
NCYSA offers two State Cup competitions, providing teams at different competitive levels the opportunity to compete for a North Carolina State Championship.
The NC USYS State Cup is designed for highly competitive teams seeking the highest level of state championship competition and provides a pathway to advance through the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.
The NC Kepner Presidents State Cup provides teams at the next competitive level an opportunity to pursue a state championship against similarly matched opponents, with advancement opportunities through the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup Series and ultimately to the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup National Championships.
NCYSA hosts State Cup competitions during both the Fall and Spring seasons, creating championship opportunities for teams across eligible age groups.
Age divisions for Fall State Cup include (all other 13U and up age groups play in the Spring Cup Series): U15G–U19G (for U18–U19 age groups).

Fall State Cup — Roster Freeze & Rules
NCYSA’s STATE CUP SERIES offers end of season cup events for 13U-19U G/B age groups. The USYS NCS State Cup is our highest competition level cup series and new for 2026 moving forward will advance directly to the USYS National Championships event. Date/location information for the USYS National Championships event can be found HERE.
The Kepner Presidents State Cup, named after former NCYSA President Bob Kepner, is our next level competitive cup event. Champions from the Kepner Presidents State Cup, also referred to as the KP Cup, beginning in 2026 will advance to a newly formatted Presidents Cup Regionals event. Date/location information for the new Presidents Cup Regional event will be posted once received from US Youth Soccer.
