SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDELINES
Voice, approvals, tagging, and graphics standards for anything posted under the NCYSA name.
Our channels are how most families see NCYSA. Posting well means celebrating the right things clearly and giving credit where it belongs. These are the basics, and Keri is always happy to look at something before it goes out.
Voice
How We Sound
- Warm and plainspoken. We are talking to families, not to the industry.
- Celebrate clubs, players, coaches, and volunteers by name whenever we can.
- Short sentences. Say the thing, then stop.
- Skip jargon a first-year soccer parent would not follow.
Before You Post
Check the details
Dates, age groups, club names, and spellings. If it involves program dates, confirm with the program lead so we are all working from the same information.
Tag the right accounts
Tag the club, the venue, and anyone pictured. Tagging is how our posts reach past our own followers, and it gives clubs credit in front of their own community.
Confirm permission
Names, quotes, and photos of identifiable people need approval first. For minors, that means a parent or guardian.
Loop in Keri
Anything going out under the NCYSA name runs through Keri, who keeps the schedule balanced across channels so posts are not competing with each other.
Handle With Care
Not for Social
- Disciplinary matters and anything connected to a SafeSport report
- Dates or decisions that have not been confirmed
- Photos of minors without a parent or guardian’s approval
Graphics
Standards
- NCYSA navy, red, and gold.
- The 50th anniversary mark is reserved for official governance and meeting materials.
- If a graphic may also be used as a website tile, keep the bottom quarter clear.
- Send Jeremy the full-size file when it is headed for the website.
